Journey Through Bethlehem

A Living Nativity

The weather did not stop the community from attending our church's "Journey through Bethlehem" on December 10th and 11th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.  We had 216 people attending on Saturday night with 2 inches of snow on the ground and many people said how maigical it looked and added to the beautiful scene.  Even though there was a winter advisory on Sunday night and it snowed most of the night 128 visitors still attended.

There were about 55 costumed characters.  Slight changes were made in 2016:  a tent was available for the visitors to sit under while they waited for their number to be called.  A costumed person welcomed the cars as they arrived and told visitors where to start.  The townspeople dancing station was eliminated to decrease the time of the tour.  The King's station had 2 female fanners and the king's script (written by Time Bell) was added to include servants anncouncing the King.  Mary and Joseph sang a lullaby (written by Tim Bell) in the barn.  IN the beautifully decorated Wilder House which as once church member said said "looked like a page out of a magazine" had one table placed in each room with chairs around the outside, delicious bagged cookies were given and comment cards were available for people to respond about their experience at the nativity.

We had 85 cards filled out.  We wish we could publish all of the comments.  People traveled as  less than 1/2 mile away to 7 hours away.

Some Comments were:

A little girl said how it effected her "THIS WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!"

"Helped my son better understand the meaing of Christmas."

"Actually I fought back tears during much of it-just overwhelmed by God's gift to us.  Thank you!!!"

Thank you to all who came and to all who participated!
