Sunday School

Sunday School classes are held during worship.  Children leave the sanctuary for Sunday School after the "Time with Young Disciples."  Once downstairs, children sit in a semi-circle and have a group opening where songs are sung, poems read, The Lord's Prayer is recited, prayers are said, and an offering is collected.

Our Sunday School Teachers:

What is Going on in Sunday School (Excerpt from May-June-July 2018 Newsletter):

Welcome to our new teacher Cheryl Scott and many thanks to Irene Steptoe for all the great lessons.

Our Easter Egg hunt was great success with 23 kids.  It was held in the Wilder House due to the rain.

Eight of our youth:  Henrik Klepper, Bianca & Elle Plastaras, Angelica Dyer, Seth & Emily Gunuskey, Katelyn Gunuskey and Brooke Hopkins attended the confirmation classes taught by Pastor Blackie.  They wrote up their Affirmation of Faith and were accepted as members of our church.  Congratulations!

Summer will soon be here-Do we want to have Vacation Bible School?  Who will organize it?

Do take time to check out the beautiful "Spring flowers" around the church and the Wilder House.  Our Sunday School kids help to plant, weed and care for these flowers.  If you are working in your garden at home, please donate your extras.  We love to get our hands and knees dirty to make a more beautiful flower garden.

Mr. Peter Brown who is a master gardener will do a demonstration on composting for the Sunday School kids on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

We will again be doing our veggie project-planting tomato & cucumber plants, perhaps potatoes too.

Parents will be receiving a yearly Parental Release & Allergy Form.  Be sure to complete the insurance name and policy number plus include the parent's signature.  If your child has an allergy, be sure to list the procedure the Sunday School Staff should follow.

Remember we always could use a volunteer-It's not hard and quite enjoyable.

Our Sunday School kids are also busy making paper bag puppets looking like animals & people for the children waiting in the Emergency room at Wayne Memorial Hospital.  Our kids enjoy making things to make others feel better.

We found out for 2017 how much our Sunday School kids raised so far this summer with the Noisy Collection for Joyce Johns Missionary Work in Cambodia.  The kids raised an amazing $436.20.  WOW!  That is awesome, and is all from loose change.  Great job kids.  We are so proud of you.
